Dynamics of Breathing Workshop

Dive into the features and function of the most essential element of life -- your breath!

Meet up with Megan Kinde, breathwork facilitator, BSN, RN, and creator of Health Alchemy, at Kula for an experiential evening of mind-body-breath connection.

Megan will cover topics such as the nervous system, the role of your diaphragm, toning the vagus nerve, and how to untangle restricted breathing patterns. Then Megan will lead you through a guided breath self-assessment and a three-part breath exercise. You'll discover how to move stuck tension in your body with the power of your individual breath.

End the workshop with time to debrief and leave with journal prompts for further reflection at home. Bring your yoga mat, water bottle, and an optional journal and pen.

Yoga Tools for Embodiment

“Before enlightenment; chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment; chop wood, carry water.” — Zen Proverb

Embodiment is an invitation for us to move from the fast pace of modern life back into our bodies. Yoga can help us to bridge the gap between mind and body and come to rest in a more grounded, alive, and in-tune place. These practices can calm our nervous system, allow stuck emotions to work themselves out, and improve our self esteem and our relationship with self.

Meet up with Melissa for this workshop all about incorporating yoga-friendly embodiment tools into your everyday life. Melissa will begin with a brief discussion about what embodiment and disembodiment are, why an embodiment practice may benefit you, and how yoga can play a part in that practice. You'll then be guided through a short, embodiment-focused Yin + Slow Flow yoga session. The workshop will conclude with time for reflective journaling and self-inquiry.

Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and a journal and pen.

Sound Bath

Soak up over an hour of relaxation, energetic restoration, and vibrational sound. Megan will play a variety of instruments, including quartz crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, and gongs, to help you hit the reset button on your central nervous system. Each instrument involved in the Sound Bath is mindfully played for its restorative properties. You'll enjoy a more balanced energetic body, as well as a calmer, more peaceful head space.

Wear comfortable, cozy clothes (pajamas and socks encouraged!), and bring a pillow and blanket.
