Do you rent out mats?
We have a limited number of mats available for students to rent for $2. Mat rental is complimentary for Kula monthly and yearly members.

Can I pay with cash?
We don’t handle cash at either studio, which is one of the reasons why preregistration is encouraged. If cash is your preferred method, and you see that there is space in class upon your arrival, please bring exact change to settle.

Are children permitted in class?
Children ages 12 and up are welcome to participate in regularly-scheduled studio classes with an accompanying adult. The adult must sign the studio's waiver for the child and take class with the child. Please use discretion when bringing children to class, and keep the studio's norms in mind.

What should I bring to class?
Bring a mat, towel, and water to class. Kula does not sell packaged water, though we have a water bottle-filling station to help keep you hydrated.

How early does the studio open before class begins?
The studio opens fifteen minutes before the start of each class.

What if I'm running late for a class or event?
The door is locked promptly at the start of class time. Late entry to class is not permitted, students late to class are held to the studio cancellation policy, and those who arrive late to classes, workshops, and events are not entitled to waived fees or refunds. If you happen to arrive after the door has been locked, be considerate. Do not knock.

What is the studio's cancellation policy?
We have small studio rooms and only so much outdoor space, so class sizes are very limited. Sign up online before class to guarantee you'll have a spot. Should you need to cancel, do so at least 1 hour before the start of class time. If you cancel within the 1-hour cancellation window, the system will auto-charge your card a $14 Late Cancel fee. If you sign up for class and arrive too late to be admitted or do not show up for your reservation, an $18 No Show fee will be auto-charged to your card on file.

All classes, workshops, and event offerings begin on time, regardless of whether all signed up are present. Give yourself time to arrive and settle before the designated start time. The doors are locked by the teacher at the start time of all offerings, therefore late admittance is not possible. Late arrivals to classes, workshops, and events are not entitled to refunds or exemptions.

All students, including members and 30-day pass holders, are held accountable to the studio cancellation policy.

If there are no students preregistered for class sixty minutes before the start time, the class will be cancelled and removed from the schedule. If there are no students signed up for 6a or 7a classes by 9p the night before, class will be cancelled and removed from the schedule.

Can I get a refund for a cancellation policy charge?
Students are not entitled to refunds for late and no-show charges, regardless of the reasons provided. Prior to making purchases and signing up for classes, students are electronically advised of the studio cancellation policy, and we include the policy on all transaction receipts. We hold firm to our business boundary of being fair and consistent with cancellation policy charges.

How does class waitlisting work?
Once a class roster is full and a waitlist has begun, log in and click “waitlist” to add yourself to the waitlist roster. Double check that your Kula MindBody account is “opted in” to receive emails. Keep an eye on your inbox, because MindBody will email to let you know you’ve been added to the roster for class. Heads up that MindBody emails could land in your spam folder, so be sure to peek there, too. Once you’re added to the roster, you’re in.

The waitlist locks one hour before class starts. If you’re on a waitlist and haven’t been moved to the roster one hour prior to the class start time, you will not be added to class. If you cannot attend class, remove yourself from the waitlist the same way you would remove yourself from a class roster.

It is the students’ responsibility to monitor movement from waitlist to class roster. All waitlisted students are held to the studio cancellation policy should they be moved to the roster for class.

Can I get a refund or credit on events and/or workshops I've registered for?
A credit to your Kula account in the full amount of the workshop or event price can be issued for cancellations when we are given 48 hours notice before the start time of the workshop or event. If less than 48 hours notice is given, no account credit will be issued.

Why does MindBody require that I keep a card on file?
Your card information is kept on file to hold you accountable to the studio’s cancellation policy.

Do I have to preregister for classes, or can I just show up?
We ask that all students create an account, sign the studio waiver, and sign up for class ahead of arriving to the studio. Signing up beforehand ensures you’ll have a spot in class. The roster for class closes 15 minutes before class and we cannot create new student accounts once check-in for class has begun.

Can I leave class early?
It is disruptive to the rest of class when students leave early, especially considering the size of our studio spaces. Students leaving early also jeopardize the security of the belongings left in the hallway. Please be considerate of your fellow yogis, and come prepared to remain for the entire class, including post-class announcements.

Why can’t I keep my phone with me during class?
Both yoga studios are phone-free zones. No exceptions are made to allow phones inside. Please disconnect from your electronics while you are in class. If you are on-call or expecting an important communication, we ask that your phone remains outside the studio space or you consider taking class at a different time. Plan accordingly.

Where should I park?
Read about PARKING here.

How can I purchase a gift card?
Gift cards can be purchased and redeemed HERE. Thanks for sharing the gift of Kula!

How do I cancel my month-to-month membership?
As detailed in the contract terms, seven days notice before your auto-charge date must be given to ensure cancellation after two months of membership. All cancellation notices must be given via email to kulagrandrapids@gmail.com.

I forgot something at the studio. How long will you hold it?
All forgotten items are held at the studio until the end of each month, regardless of the date said items were left behind. Items are either donated or disposed of at the start of each new month.

What is the studio’s phone number?
We do not have a studio phone. You can reach out to us via email, Instagram, or stop by the studio before or after class. We promise to get back to you within an appropriate amount of time.

How do you choose where your Outreach Flow donations go?
We donate the funds generated from Outreach Flow each month to local organizations and nonprofits whose values and missions align with our own. If you have an idea for an Outreach Flow partnership, contact us here.

Do you have any work-for-trade opportunities at either studio?
We’re often looking for help with different to-do’s at Wealthy and Leonard, so shoot us an email if you’d like to learn more.
