Class Descriptions

Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa is a flow-based, dynamic yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath. Classes include a grounding start, sun salutations, standing and balance poses, and pranayama (breath work).

Slow Flow Yoga
Slow Flow offers a slower-paced Vinyasa practice. Students have more time to integrate to their mats, flow breath to movement, and hold asanas for a number of breaths. This specific class is terrific for beginners.

Aroma Yoga
Find some solace on your mat. You'll be guided through a 75-minute Restorative or Yin practice {see class descriptions below}, complimented by different forms of aromatherapy throughout class. Those hypersensitive to scents should avoid AromaRestore.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is a practice focused on slowing down and resting with the total support of props. There is a minimal amount of movement in a Restorative class, and students wear comfortable, cozy clothes and socks to class. Props are available at the studio, and all are welcome to bring blocks, blankets, pillows, straps, and sandbags.

Pratyahara Vinyasa Yoga
Pratyahara is the 5th limb of Patanjali’s Eight-Limbed Path, and it revolves around the disconnection from external stimulation in order to withdraw into a deeper state of awareness. Within a Pratyahara Vinyasa class, you’ll experience a traditional Kula Vinyasa practice without music, and you’ll be offered an eye covering to limit visual stimulation. Experience a deeper connection with your mind, body, and breath.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow and nourishing practice wherein students can expect deep stretching during long holds in poses designed to target fascia and connective tissues infused with time for meditation and pranayama, guided yogic breathing. Yin may increase flexibility and range of motion, while providing relaxation and energetic benefits. Props are available at the studio, and all are welcome to bring blocks, blankets, pillows, straps, and sandbags.

Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a practice of deep, meditative relaxation. Students rest comfortably in Savasana during an extended guided meditation where they linger in the state between sleeping and wakefulness. Yoga Nidra provides a complete release of all body tension and a deeper level of consciousness. Through the practice, students access the deepest levels of their minds and examine long held beliefs and habits.

Satya Sound Yoga
Satya means right speech, truthfulness, and skillful listening. This Yama is at the center of all "Satya Sound" classes at Kula. Wear one of our Satya Sound headphone sets, and hear only the instructor's voice and music. Tune in, release distraction, and flow.

Buti Yoga
Buti Yoga is a high-intensity class that blends yoga and dance with circuits of plyometrics and full-body conditioning. Each class consists of deep stretching, strength training, dance, and heart-pounding cardio. Buti will shake up your shakti energy and bring overall balance to your mind and body. Empower your workout, connect, sweat, and transform your body from the inside out. Click here to learn more about Buti.

Buti Flow
Buti Flow is a traditional Buti Yoga class without high intensity cardio and plyometrics. Students move through power yoga postures, dynamic stretching and deep core work while shaking up shakti energy and bringing overall balance to mind and body.

Buti Bands
Buti Bands is a High Intensity Interval Training format class that will bring a new level of intensity to what you would see in a traditional Buti Yoga class by using resistance bands around the legs for lower body conditioning. In between HIIT segments, students will take brief periods of rest in static yoga poses. Bands are provided to students.

Buti DEEP
Buti DEEP is a restorative and gentle movement sequence that utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to connect mind to muscle and catalyze vibrational change on a cellular level. Unlike traditional Buti, DEEP is low-impact and focuses on micro-movements with physical touch to connect the brain to innervated muscle and restructure the deep core. DEEP is designed to prevent injury, restore muscle innervation, and assist in the recovery of bladder/uterine prolapse and diastasis recti. This class includes self-massage and pressure point activation to release muscles during deep restorative asanas. All DEEP classes end with a short meditation. *This class is not recommended for those that may be pregnant.

Buti Hotcore
Hotcore is a class format that utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to engage the deep muscles of the core. Broken into pre-sequenced sets to maximize muscle toning and functionality, Hotcore is the perfect class for students looking to enhance core strength and push the limits of their yoga practice. Students MUST wear socks to Hotcore + Flow. Crew or knee socks are recommended. This class is not recommended for those that may be pregnant.

Buti Sculpt
Buti Sculpt is a High Intensity Interval Training class that builds long, lean muscles and improves cardiovascular health. Sculpt combines segments of HIIT Buti moves with static yoga poses. Between each HIIT and static round, students take brief periods of rest and recovery.

Outreach Flow
Our Outreach Flow is a $5 donation Vinyasa class. A portion of all proceeds generated during Outreach Flow classes are donated to local community organizations to help support their causes. Monthly and yearly members, as well as Kula instructors and yoga teacher trainees, are asked to donate. Preregistration is required.
